These people have bravely agreed to share their tales, in the hope that they will motivate readers to sign up to the organ donor register and to raise more awareness of the shortage of donors in the UK.
Some have happy endings, and are heartwarming, painting a picture of the miracle of organ donation. Some are from donor families, who explain just how deciding to give the gift of life affects those left behind. Sadly, some are stories of those who just ran out of time.
